John L. Hurt, Jr. Elementary

Nine students from John L. Hurt Jr. Elementary School traveled to the National Beta Convention in Savannah, GA, from June 14-16.  Students competed in various categories, including Quiz Bowl, Engineering, Performing Arts, Hand-Drawn Anime, Pottery, Jewelry, Digital Art and took Academic tests in 5th Grade Spanish, 4th Grade Social Studies, and 5th Grade Science.  The Quiz Bowl team competed in the oral rounds and placed 6th in the Nation.  All the students represented their club, their school, and Pittsylvania County Schools excellently.  We are very proud of their achievements.
